Day Trips
Cyprus is not just sun, sea and sand, so why not see more of the island on a day trip.
Tombs of the Kings
A visit to the ancient tombs near Paphos via Aphrodite's Rock (shown here) - her birthplace. There is a picturesque castle in Paphos harbour and the local shops and wine bars are worth a visit. Have lunch at a restaurant overlooking the scenic Coral Bay with its wide curve of golden sand.
Protaras
Start by visiting Ayia Napa, famous for its bustling nightlife, picturesque fishing harbour and beautiful beaches. Next stop Cape Greco in a national park. Then on to Protaras, known as the little sister of Ayia Napa with its superb beaches, relaxing surroundings and a village type atmosphere.
You can eat, overlooking the popular Fig Tree Bay - as shown here.
Akamas Peninsular
Surrounded by citrus and olive groves, this whole area is as yet unspoiled and really captures the essence of the 'Real Cyprus'.
Polis and Latchi offer both charm and tranquillity. Polis, a more built up village situated on a hill overlooking this scenic area, is situated about a 5 minute drive from the fishing village of Latchi, ideal for small tavernas serving fresh fish and seafood. Lunch can be eaten overlooking the harbour and fishing boats of Latchi.
Finally, go on to the Baths of Aphrodite.
